Théo Guedu, innovation project manager. Thanks to Théo and our Innovation Lab, Marseille-based nugget MGI contributes directly to the performance and smooth running of French ports.
From work experience to a permanent contract
It all started with a diploma in international trade, specialising in exports/imports. Théo continued his studies with a vocational degree in management and maritime transport law for which he did his end-of-year 6-month internship at MGI. He joined the user support service in 2018. During the internship, he put into practice his experience in the various maritime transport professions.
After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree, he began the first year of a Master’s degree in transport and logistics while still working for MGI’s assistance department. Théo was therefore present at the Ci5 launch. “I attended the changeover from AP+ to Ci5 in October 2018 and it was a rewarding experience during which I learned a lot,” explains Théo.
He therefore joined the innovation department to continue the second year of his Master’s degree as an assistant innovation project manager on a sandwich course. After obtaining his Master’s degree, Théo was hired as an innovation project manager on a permanent basis.
“Curious, and attracted by the world of new technology, I decided to go into innovation and learn more about it,” says Théo Guedu.
Théo has now been with MGI for almost 4 years and is delighted. “It’s a company on a human scale, there is good cohesion with all the employees and a good team spirit, where we share and help each other,” says Théo.
The role of an innovation project manager at MGI
The innovation project manager first of all monitors technical and functional aspects. He collects as much information as possible through the press, webinars, conferences, the Internet, etc. He must be able to understand the evolution of the ecosystem to design new solutions.
In addition, Théo has taken over a project under development: CHANNEL 5.
The objective of this project is to integrate data into an artificial intelligence (AI) engine taking into account business rules that allow us to assess whether logistics operations are under control or if they are disrupted and, if so, which players are affected. Théo and the entire innovation team are actively working on this service, which aims to be launched before the end of 2022.
