The Import Control System (ICS) is the electronic system for managing security declarations on imports into the EU, mandatory since Jan 1, 2011. All operators (importers, freight forwarders) must electronically send an advanced cargo declaration (ENS) for goods on the ship. This applies to all non-EU goods entering Europe.
