1985
The creation of Gyptis
The company GYPTIS S.A was founded by the Marseille-Fos port community with the aim of creating a Port Community System designed to manage the passage of goods through the port. The name is based on the story of Gyptis and Protis linked to the city of Marseille.

The Protis Port Community System

– MGI decides to start development work to replace AP+ (SOGET having embarked a few years earlier on creating a new system). MGI creates the ARROW unit (Air, Road, Rail, Ocean, Waterways), dedicated to the next-generation PCS project.
– New AP+ deployment by MGI in Lyon, at the Port of Lyon Edouard Herriot.

A spectacular increase in traffic
– The new system developed by MGI is named Ci5 (Cargo Intelligence 5). The 5 stands for the 5 continents and also for the 5 modes of transport named in the ARROW definition.
