Expertise, Availability, and Responsiveness: The Core Strengths of This Dynamic Team

“I turned to our partner MGI when setting up an EDI interface between the CI5 portal and our TMS tool dedicated to freight forwarding. At every stage of the project — from the feasibility study and quote to implementation, development, improvements, and adjustments — I was thoroughly supported by the MGI teams, both in terms of commercial relations and technical support. Expertise, availability, and responsiveness are the main qualities I associate with this dynamic team. Even my most demanding requests were heard, carefully analyzed, and alternative solutions were proposed when technical constraints were too significant. Given the growing importance of system-to-system exchanges in today’s world — and their undeniable impact on productivity in our industry — we’ll undoubtedly have more projects in the future. And I’m confident I can continue to rely on this essential partner.”

Greater Flexibility for Hazardous Goods Declarations

“For over 35 years in the Marseille area, MGI has been a key player in freight transport. As a freight forwarder handling an average of 9,000 TEUs per year from our Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône site, it would be unthinkable for us not to use their CI5 system. With around fifteen years of experience in the industry, I’ve also used its predecessor, AP+. While it was already highly efficient, the arrival of CI5 took things to the next level for our container declarations. It’s far more user-friendly and intuitive. It also offers much greater flexibility, especially when it comes to hazardous goods declarations. In short, CI5 has made our daily work much easier since its launch.”

FAQ

All your questions about our solutions and services

What is the Hinterland?

The word “Hinterland” originates from German and means “back country.” In the context of ports, the hinterland refers to the inland area connected to a port through intermodal transport networks (rail, barge, road) that receive or dispatch goods via that port. The goal of the intermodal hinterland is to extend the port’s economic activity zone by facilitating the supply chains of shippers and suppliers, thereby improving the flow of goods.

What modes of transport are involved in the Hinterland?

The hinterland involves three types of land-based transport modes, also known as modal shift: rail, barge, and road transport.

What type of goods does Inland5 allow me to track?

It currently allows you to track full containers, and we are working on tracking empty containers as well as bulk goods.

What are the prerequisites for using Inland5?

To benefit from Inland5 services, you must be a Ci5 user.

How can I optimize my operational performance (barge/train load) with Inland5?

Inland5 allows users to track the status of goods once the manifest is integrated into Ci5. With visibility on cargo status, carriers can anticipate which goods will exit the terminal and head to an inland terminal via one or more of the three modal transport modes (rail, road, barge).
